Who We Are
Current (2021--2022) members of the Committee of Cycling UK Lincolnshire.
Active in cycling for nearly 40 years. Worked within the cycle retail trade since the 1980's and currently runs Gainsborough Cycles. Joining Cycling UK / CTC in the year 2000, Trevor enjoys long distance cycling and has often covered 100+ miles in a day. Takes part in Time Trials -various distances from 5 miles to 24 hours.
I grew up in Kent and my first taste of cycling was at 8 years of age on a third hand Hercules, cycling regularly to primary school. I joined the Cyclists' Touring Club in 1982 and have been touring, both at home and abroad, and enjoying regular weekend rides in all seasons and in all weathers. I moved to Lincolnshire in 1983, working for the RAF at Binbrook, and have been an active member of Cycling UK Louth ever since. I was 'promoted' to Chair of Cycling UK Lincolnshire in 1999.
A true 'Yellow Belly' Lincolnshire born and bred. Cycled all my life from age 7 and took up regular cycling in 1990. Joined the Cycling UK in 1992 and became Secretary and Ride leader in 1997. Enjoys organising the annual Lincoln Imp Audax and the Lincoln Sunday rides.
I retired to Lincolnshire in 2012 after being brought up in London and then living in Kent. I took up cycling in the early 1980's, after many years hill walking and climbing. I joined the CTC and spent many happy years cycling with West Kent CTC and served three years as a CTC Councilor. Moving up to Lincolnshire I soon discovered the delights of cycling in the Wolds and joined Cycling UK Lincolnshire, and became Treasurer in 2013. I enjoy helping to lead rides and I look forward to meeting you out on our delightful lanes.

A bit of a cycle chimp so mostly friendly and amusing... Cycle to work most every day, and love to cycle even in the rain. In fact loves to cycle in the rain - it's just really fun, but then so is cycling in the sun, or in a gentle breeze but not when it's blowing a gale! Short rides are lovely and long rides are a dream, but I'm not a speed racer as I love to enjoy the view with a fair few stops for pictures and refreshments too. Riding a sit up and beg bike but can't pull off that Copenhagen cycle chic they talk about. I love to cycle and I really hope that I can share that love with lots of other people too! My day to day cycle commute takes me to my Independent bookshop - Unicorn Tree Books in Lincoln Central Market - and I'm as passionate and committed to books and community as I am to cycling.
